Travel Bugs

Since Andrew was up half of the night with a sore throat and his head all clogged up, I figured I better call the ENT before the kids went to Dubuque for the weekend and really got run down.
Got in at 2pm, so we had to delay the Beloit hand off by a bit. Jim didn't really believe me when I said a 2pm appointment wouldn't get us out of there before 3.15.
Right around 3ish we got into see Dr. Pollock. Emmalee went first and he gave her a clean bill of health.
Then Andrew hopped up. I figured he may have not totally cleared the previous infection in his ears although he said he felt fine on the plane ride over. Dr. Pollock pulled the last remaining tube from his right ear -- it has been sitting precariously on the edge since we moved away and never fell out. Then he turned Andrew's head and cleaned out a layer of dried infectious gunk. Said he still had an infection. UGH. And a sinus infection. YIPEE. 2 weeks of Bactrim for him. And a date on the 10th of July for new ear tubes. Gotta squeeze in the surgery before we move back.
He then used a tuning fork to test his hearing. Something about louded when its in front of the ear than when it is touched behind the ear. Andrew failed to hear the correct difference so Dr. Pollock said let's have Mommy do it to show you how. Needless to say, I FAILED. Worse than Andrew... so I had to hop up and get checked out. Walked out with a sinus infection diagnosis. That would explain the cough, sore throat and lack of voice I had. So, 2 weeks of Bactrim for me also! No sun exposure for either of us. UGH!!!!!
