Something is not so tropical about this picture

When I agreed to move here, I was told it would be a warm, tropical climate. In fact, when we were packing up the house, a hubby birdy said, "Go ahead and pack your sweaters for storage. You won't need them for more than a week or two there. It doesn't get cold there." So I naively listened to him... Now, Andrew and I beg to differ...

It was 57 degrees in the bedrooms going to bed last night and 54 degrees when we woke up. Only 9 degrees colder outside!!!
In fact, I told Andrew that if he was so cold when he was going to sleep that putting on a stocking cap like Grampy LeRoy would help keep the heat in. He wasn't so sure, so when we tucked him in, he had removed it. But not 2 hours later when I went to check on him, this is how I found him... sleeping soundly under 9 layers of blankets and flannel sheets. And there he stayed for 12 hours solid. YEAH. First night of sleeping through in weeks.
Needless to say, I went out and bought three ceramic heaters today. Hopefully they will warm the bedrooms a bit.
